Why I work for Free

There is often a silence and sense of disbelief I’m met with when I tell people I “work for free” and that my employer is end of the day God.

It is true I have worked for and with many global corporations and high net-worth individuals and I still do (I mean it’s my code afterall) but I am not on any payroll.

I don’t receive “benefits” or “typical” social assistance from either.

Eventually the discussion deepens that surely I am accepting some sort of compensation. I must need to eat, pay bills and what about my family “Don’t you have a Daughter?”

Yes this is all true. I need to eat. I need to pay bills and I do have a Daughter.

Aha! “Got some crypto hidden away eh, sticking it to the man eh Satoshi or perhaps a secret trust fund?”

There are some things I hold in order to pay or get access to basic services.

I have a credit card. I have a bank account with a card and yes I havr a crypto wallet. So you’re a liar, you have secret resources.

“I thought God was your supplier?”

God Is.

It may surprise you that I wear clothes and not walk around naked. I make mistakes and I can stutter and I have a passport because in this world Nations don’t like for you to just appear in their country with no sense of a footprint of how you got here.

“Don’t you sell domains and broker sales?”

I certainly do, and while it used to be about the money too my time related goals were to get the right names to the right groups and people.

When you visit BBC.com, FairTrade.ca or Amazon.com I can chuckle a little.

This is 5D Chess not Noughts and Crosses.

“Okay, Okay, so you used to be a moneybags fella and now it’s some vow of povery schtick. Surely you are not reporting 0 income to the Tax Man. You are receiving big money?”

Oy Vey, actually I am. Reporting 0 that is unless it’s truly not beyond gifts and emergency savings or gifts from friends and family or the community.

“You’re a fraud”

See sense now.

Did I have coin in the past. Absolutely and I donated it all away and some was stolen and lost sure but that’s water under the bridge.

“So you accept compensation and donations right like don’t Priests, Imams and Rabbis get a salary or operate under a stipend model of compensation. Is the community I reside in each time compensating me?”

A Salary no. Do I accept compensation is an interesting question and in a sense yes I do though not as money.

It could be for free accommodation, food and passage tontravel or access to areas that money was never going to buy. Also, while we’re on the topic yes those Individuals of Faith do generally receive some sort of pay.

However I am not for example a Diocesan Priest or part of some clergy.

I’m not alone but I’m operating Solo.

Do I have friends in high places. Yes the highest. Do I assist powerful groups and individuals. Yes the highest.I’ve also been in shelters, hostels, I’ve sat side by side with people in need and never left until I knew something was setup for them.

Do I tell God everything? Yes.

You get what you give and I’m tired, weak and broken. I’m waiting to see what people give back when I’ve given it all. To do that I work for free.

When something is given or provided to me I multiply it back.

So maybe I should say.I work for gifts. Currently.

Will I be a Salary Man again? Only God Knows.

regards,

Alexander / Zenchi
