Daisy the ever regal feline companion and friend to humanity passed away today.

She was 18 years old (88 in human years if you’re into those conversions) and passed on very peacefully after taking some last sips of water, laying in my lap for petting then being helped to her favourite bed one last time accompanied with more petting and humming until her final breath.

Mind you this day was seen well ahead of time as myself and loved ones had noticed her decline over the past few months increased more than the usual subtle decline you’d notice associated with old age typical of cats her age. Having been through this process with other pet companions (3 Cats, 1 Dog and 2 Betta Fish) on their final legs you feel it approaching, see the signs and try to make the send-off as comfortable and dignified as possible.

Daisy looked very much like other grey tabby cats with her sparking green eyes but that personality was very much unique and unforgettable. I’ll see you in others but they’re not you.

Truly she was a loyal friend and family through and through and I wish her well on her next journey.

I do hope she enjoyed her stay on Earth as much as I and loved ones enjoyed time with her.
